.. at the time, making this album seemed like the only positive thing we could do after Nige's ultimate rock'n'roll statement, but now we've finished it, it's becoming obvious that recording it was pure escapism - trying to pretend that he was still here by using his drums, singing bowls and other percussive toys. In a sense he was - his ideas and perspective live within it, as much as his instruments. It had been our plan to follow each album of songs we made with an album of arcane ambient tracks, so if he was here, this is what we would have done too. Whether this album will now mark the end of UKH or the beginning of a new chapter still remains to be seen, but we think he would have agreed that it had to be done...
