UK Heights - "Welcome to Life"

- we finally did it. Five years after deciding to make this album, we proudly present the finished article....

But nothing in life's that simple. This album also marked the end of the life of our unique drummer, Nigel Vargeson. He heard the finished masters, but was ill in hospital as it went to the CD plant, and he never lived to see the finished album. He would not have wanted us to stop promoting it, so we won't; but as we write, Claire and Mike are very unsure as to whether they will be able to continue the band without him. Losing one third of a three-piece is serious, let's face it. The three of us named the album "Welcome to Life" when we began it in 2000, unaware of the irony of the title we had coined....

So this music stands as further and final testament to Nigel's powerful, tender, passionate and inimitable percussive sensibilities and talent. Thanks Nige.
